Obama for America (OFA) will join with local and AAPI groups in the Virginia, Maryland and D.C. area, including Arlington Young Democrats (AYD), Chinese Americans for Obama (CAFO), Filipinos for Obama (FFO), Korean Americans for Obama (KAFO), South Asians for Obama (SAFO), D.C. Asian American & Pacific Islander Democratic Caucus and Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance, Washington, D.C. Chapter (APALA-D.C.). In August, a survey on Asian American and Pacific Islander voters noted that a third of AAPI voters remained undecided for the presidential election. As the fastest growing minority group in the U.S. today, AAPIs continue to be the ultimate swing vote in this year’s election. Groups like APALA-DC have been working to engage and mobilize the AAPI community this year with the Every Vote Counts program. This debate watch event is open to the public and offers opportunities to meet with key leaders in the Virginia, Maryland and D.C. area and learn about how to get involved with this year’s election.
