Dear Friends, Blessed greetings to my many friends doing great things at all points of the compass across our magnificent America. After serving for two years in our nation’s capital advocating with Congress and Federal agencies for disaster relief for people and the environment along the Central Gulf Coast, forming a communications, consulting, and multi-lingual company for federal and private entities, producing/hosting an SBTN-DC Youth in Media TV program, volunteering at CARE International, and leading a Scout troop, I am back home on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. I have resumed my disaster relief efforts begun (as a small-business owner myself) before going to Washington, D.C. I am coordinating and managing a multi-lingual oil spill claims service center, working as a paralegal to better understand legal procedures and the legal system, leading my beloved Brownie troop, and volunteering as a facilitator/ trainer for the American Cancer Society “Look Good Feel Better Program, for women with cancer. Drawing on the experience, perspective and inspiration gained from working with outstanding folks from all walks of life, I have thrown my hat (silk scarf) in the ring to run for the City Council seat from Ward One in Biloxi, Mississippi. The causes for which I traveled to Washington—Hurricane Katrina, and the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill—are still unfinished here, where the effects of devastation and displacement are all too real. I am dedicated to bringing back residents and businesses to the city for all our citizens, and, beyond that, to ensure that women’s and children’s voices about their health and social needs are heard. From beleaguered women to businesswoman I will work to help them realize their full potential. Visionary, solution-oriented friends to please come on board. Your timely contribution will be indispensable to the furthering of principles and programs for which we all have fought and continue to fight. I ask for your prayers and well-wishes for us, as we send our blessings to you and your efforts for the betterment of your communities.
