Turnout 100 là một phong trào cấp cơ sở nhằm trao quyền cho phụ nữ trên khắp Hoa Kỳ thực hiện quyền bầu cử của họ đã phát động với mục tiêu đạt được tỷ lệ cử tri nữ tích cực đi bỏ phiếu cao nhất ở nước ta lịch sử với cuộc bầu cử tổng thống sắp tới vào ngày 3 tháng 11.
Chiến dịch phát động đánh dấu 100 năm thông qua Tu chính án thứ 19 vào ngày 18 tháng 8 năm 1920 nhằm bảo đảm và bảo vệ quyền bầu cử của phụ nữ ở Hoa Kỳ. Việc phê chuẩn sửa đổi theo hiến pháp đã cấm các chính phủ liên bang và tiểu bang từ chối bỏ phiếu cho công dân Hoa Kỳ dựa trên giới tính.
Theo Center for American Women and Politics thì gần 4/10 phụ nữ không nói lên tiếng nói của mình bằng cách bỏ phiếu khi chỉ với 63,3% cử tri nữ đủ điều kiện tham gia cuộc bầu cử tổng thống năm 2016. Trong một nghiên cứu của Gender On The Ballot thì 30% phụ nữ nói rằng họ tin rằng họ không biết đủ về chính trị để tham gia nhiều hơn. Phụ nữ có xu hướng coi đây là rào cản bỏ phiếu hàng đầu của họ cao gấp ba lần so với nam giới trong cùng một nghiên cứu.
Chiến dịch là một sáng kiến cơ sở mới nổi và phi đảng phái nhằm mục đích trao quyền cho cử tri trên toàn quốc và truyền cảm hứng cho nhiều phụ nữ bỏ phiếu bằng cách cung cấp các nguồn giáo dục đáng tin cậy và khuyến khích phụ nữ cam kết bỏ phiếu cũng như tăng cường tiếng nói khác trong phong trào ngày nay để phụ nữ tham gia nhiều hơn vào chính trị. Turnout 100 sẽ có kế hoạch thu hút sự chú ý cũng như những người theo dõi và ủng hộ khi ngày bầu cử quốc gia đến gần.

Campaign Aims to Encourage Women to Cast their Ballot for Upcoming Presidential Election in Celebration of the 100 Year Anniversary of 19th Amendment Passage
ATLANTA, Aug. 18, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — Turnout 100, a grassroots movement dedicated to empowering women across the United States to exercise their right to vote, has launched with a goal to achieve the highest turnout of active female voters in our country’s history with the upcoming presidential election on Nov. 3.
The campaign launch marks the 100-year anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment on Aug. 18, 1920, which guarantees and protects women’s right to vote in the United States. The ratification of the amendment constitutionally barred federal and state governments from denying votes to U.S. citizens based on gender.
According to the Center for American Women and Politics, nearly four out of 10 women do not make their voices heard by casting a ballot, with just 63.3 percent of eligible women voters participating in the 2016 presidential election. In a study by Gender On The Ballot, 30 percent of women stated they believe they do not know enough about politics to be more involved. Women were three times more likely to state this as their top barrier to vote than men included in the same study.
The campaign is a non-partisan, emerging grassroots initiative, that aims to empower voters across the country and inspire more women to cast their votes by providing reliable educational resources and encouraging women to pledge their vote, as well as amplifying other voices in today’s movement for greater women’s participation in politics. Turnout 100 will plan to gain traction as well as followers and supporters as the date of the national election approaches.
