| CAUSE Provides Input To
CA Redistricting Commission
 Recently, the California Citizens Redistricting Commission released its first draft of proposed boundaries for Congressional, Senate, and Assembly Districts. How these boundaries are drawn will influence the type of representation Asian Pacific Islander Americans (APIAs) will have in Congress and the state legislature. After reviewing the commission’s first draft maps, CAUSE has submitted a letter supporting some of its proposed districts and recommending changes to other districts. Click here to view the letter. Redistricting Community Forum

On June 15, 2011, at the Crawford Family Forum at KPCC in Pasadena, the League of Women Voters (LWV) held a forum entitled, “Dueling Maps: How Will Your District Change?” for community members to discuss and analyze the first mapping drafts of the California Citizens Redistricting Commission. CAUSE Chair, Charlie Woo, was one of the presenters at the event, where he explained the impact that the Commission’s proposals would have on the Asian Pacific Islander American (APIA) community.
