2nd redistricting map
On Friday, the California Redistricting Commission voted upon its
nearly final political maps. Now, there is a 14-day public viewing period before they vote to finalize the maps. During this time, the public
has one last time to provide any comments to the commission before
August 15. Your impact makes a difference! CAUSE encourages
you to e-mail the commission to urge the members to
connect West San Gabriel Valley with East San Gabriel Valley
for Senate District 22-LACVN.

Recap of July Events

NextGen Leadership Luncheon with LA City Attorney Carmen Trutanich

IN THIS PHOTO: City Attorney Carmen Trutanich (center) discussed

important political topics with the youth, in hopes of inspiring them to

be the next generation of civic leaders.

On July 7, 2011, CAUSE hosted the NextGen Leadership Luncheon featuring LA City Attorney Carmen Trutanich, where he shared some words of wisdom with

young up-and comers about civic leadership.  In the intimate conversation,

Trutanich touched on everything from leadership development to public relations.

With so many topics discussed, each attendee had something different to

take away from the luncheon.

CAUSE Interns Attended the 2011  “API Intern Day At the Capital” Sacramento photo   IN THIS PHOTO: State Senator Lou Correa (far left) poses with the  interns on the Senate floor.

From July 11 to July 12, 2011, the CAUSE Leadership Academy interns

attended the annual API Intern Day At the Capital event in Sacramento, CA.

Interns from various other APIA organizations also attended the leadership conference, where state legislators and legislative staffers spoke to the interns about

possible political career paths, social issues, and even their personal

journeys as politicians.  During the two eventful days, the interns were

constantly exposed to new experiences.

Read about the lessons that one of the CAUSE interns gained from the trip!
