Las Vegas Voter Registration For 2013 Municipal Primary Election Ends March 12

Media Release Monday, March 04, 2013 For Immediate Release Communications Contact: Diana Paul Telephone: 229-6501 Voter Registration For 2013 Municipal Primary Election Ends March 12 City Clerk’s Office Open Extended Hours March 11, 12 All Ward 2, 4 and 6 city of Las Vegas residents who wish to cast a ballot in the city’s Primary Election have until Tuesday, March 12, to register to vote. Individuals who have not registered to vote by March 12 will be unable to vote during early voting, March 16 through March 29, or on Primary Election Day, scheduled for April 2. The City Clerk’s Office will be open for voter registration through Thursday, March 7, from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and extended hours from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. March 11 and 12. The City Clerk’s Office is located on the second floor of Las Vegas City Hall, 495 S. Main Street. The March 12 deadline also applies to changes in registration. If a person has moved since he or she originally registered, it is necessary to notify the Clark County Election Department of the change by calling 455-VOTE (8683). The city’s Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, April 2. During early voting and on election day, all city voters living in Wards 2, 4 and 6 can vote for a City Council candidate who would represent their respective areas. Voting for the remaining wards (1, 3 and 5) and for the post of mayor will take place in 2015. For more information, residents can call the City Clerk’s Office at 229-6311. -end
