FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE FOR MEDIA INQUIRIES: December 19, 2016 (213) 978-3281 │cecilia.reyes@lacity.org REVISED – CITY CLERK CERTIFIES OFFICIAL LIST OF CANDIDATES 2017 PRIMARY NOMINATING ELECTION LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles City Clerk Holly L. Wolcott released today the official list of 77 candidates who have qualified to appear on the ballot for the March 2017 Primary Nominating Election. Due to the City’s March 7, 2017 Municipal Election consolidation with the County of Los Angeles’ Consolidated, Municipal and Special Elections, the random alphabet drawing was conducted by the Secretary of State’s Office. This public drawing determined the order in which candidates will be listed in each race. Attached is the list of certified candidates to appear on the March ballot according to the Secretary of State’s random alphabet order. For individuals who wish to become write-in candidates, the Write-In Candidate Filing period is January 9, through February 21, 2017. For more information, call the Election Division at (213) 978-0444 or toll free at (888) 873-1000. Additional information can be found on the City Clerk’s election website under the “Candidate Information” section. The City’s Primary Nominating Election will be held March 7, 2017, and the General Municipal Election will be held May 16, 2017. The Office of the City Clerk administers elections for the City of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Unified School District and the Los Angeles Community College District.
